ITRI's innovative bionic full-thickness skin tissue printing technology constructs a multi-layer cell layer with a success rate greater than 85%. The full-skin tissue can be cultured and differentiated within six days, faster than the international average period of three to four weeks. With the rapid printing and fast solidifying properties of the ITRI Bio-ink material, the cells can be cultured for over 28 days with no deformation and shrinkage without needing a linking agent, thus creating a three-dimensional culturing condition for cells. EPiTRI can be used as a testing material for cosmetics and skin-care products, and stem cells can be added to form artificial skin for burn wounds and be 3D printed for mass production to provide industrial benefits.
